You're talking about transforming a machine that is already one of the most complex drivetrains you could challenge, and making the complexity ten-fold. It's just too complex to make it work reliably, and most of us aren't willing to throw $10-20-30k into our cars just to blow them up. Prove me wrong and I'll be your most impressed supporter, but I doubt you will.
